(Patria) - Federal Minister of Environment and Tourism Edita Đapo is surprised by the actions of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bisera Turković, who at today's session of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina removed the decision on the formation of an expert team for Trgovska Gora from the agenda.

Minister Đapo emphasized that with the decision to build a hazardous nuclear waste repository on the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Republic of Croatia has endangered the health of about 250,000 people, as well as the environment and the ecosystem in the Una river valley, and the wider region of Krajina.

- Therefore, as the responsible federal minister of environment, I do not understand Minister Turković's decision to block our country's fight to protect the health of our population and the environment in the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Bosnia and Herzegovina, according to all international acts, has the right to protect its rights and the rights of its citizens. Instead of blocking the formation of an expert team, Minister Turković should communicate with her counterpart in Croatia and suggest that, in order to preserve good diplomatic relations, Croatia should not build a nuclear waste repository on the border with BiH, but rather choose another location - said Minister Đapo.

She emphasized that in this way, by Minister Turković's actions, the efforts of all levels of government in BiH to form an expert and legal team that would represent the interests of Bosnia and Herzegovina have been prevented, it was announced from the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism.
