Both Čović and Komšić want a Serbian minister, SDA seeks eight positions

On Monday, December 29, a meeting of the leaders of SDA, DF and HDZ BiH will be held in Sarajevo to discuss the formation of the executive authority in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, writes the news agency Patria.

The Democratic Front will seek five ministerial positions in the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (3 Serbian, one Croatian and one Bosniak) and, as things currently stand, will not back down from that.

Opposite to what Željko Komšić's demands are stands the demand of Dragan Čović, the leader of HDZ BiH, who said today that he will seek six positions, five Croatian and one Serbian, which he promised to Milorad Dodik, the leader of SNSD.

Deputy President of SDA Bakir Izetbegović expects the prime minister's post and seven ministerial positions.

According to Patria's information, the leaders of DF and HDZ BiH will fight over the Serbian position, and therefore a new Government of FBiH should not be expected so soon.

More precisely, a situation could arise where the entire legislative and executive authority in the cantons and at the state level is formed within the planned deadlines, while the discussion about the executive authority in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina drags on for the next few months.

One possible scenario is that Komšić, if Čović persists in his demand for five Croatian and one Serbian ministry, the DF leader will seek one Croatian instead of the one Serbian he is currently insisting on.
