(Patria) - After a half-hour break at the continuation of the session of the House of Peoples of the BiH PA, the Chairperson Kemal Ademović (NIP) had a proposal for an agenda amendment.

He requested that the agenda be amended with the Proposal for Amendments to the Law on BiH Police Officers, under an urgent procedure. Unlike the laws that appeared in December, Ademović proposed that police officers can remain employed until the age of 59, and they submit a request three months before they meet the requirements for retirement (40 years of service). The application of this law would be valid until 31.12.2028.

He stated that the law is not complicated and that the situation in the three state police agencies is alarming.

He reminded that back in 2023, he initiated an initiative to increase the capacity of the Agency for Training of Personnel, and that this did not happen.

"An escalation has occurred. The projection is that by February 28, 495 police officers from these three agencies will retire. This will significantly affect the performance of the duties of these three agencies," said Ademović.

Deputy Chairperson Nikola Špirić stated that he does not dispute Ademović's proposal, but that an agenda amendment is not a solution, and that an agreement should be sought for a future session. Then, the Club of the Serb People requested a half-hour break.

The session of the House of Peoples of the BiH PA began at 11 AM, and 13 agenda amendments were requested.
