Sermons across BiH: The crime in Paris has nothing to do with Islam

Imams in mosques across Bosnia and Herzegovina today, during Friday prayers, once again warned about the evil that happened in Paris on Wednesday, when two attackers killed 12 people in an attack on the editorial office of the Parisian magazine Charlie Hebdo, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

Imams pointed out that the unfortunate event cannot be linked to Islam and Muslims in any context, and that those who want to attribute this terrorist act to Muslims only want to contribute to the spread of Islamophobia.

- Islam is a religion that spreads with peace and love, not with crimes – warned the imams.

The head of the Islamic Community in BiH, Husein ef. Kavazović, who led the Friday prayer at the Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque in Sarajevo, said that Muslims are looking with dismay at the horrific images of the crime in Paris and the burning of mosques in European Union countries.

- The crime in Paris and the spread of hatred towards Muslims must not paralyze us. We must remain united to defeat evil, hatred, darkness, and fear that they want to impose on us from both sides – said, among other things, Reis Kavazović.

Muhamed ef. Velić, a respected Sarajevo imam and publicist, warned that Muslims have nothing to do with the latest provocations, terror, and killings being carried out.

- This is not their war. It is "theirs" only to the extent that everyone bills them to their Muslim address. Muslims must become serious and aware, and they should not accept these bills, and especially they must not and should not pay them! – stated ef. Velić, reports Patria.
