Huskić for NAP: SPC controls Dodik, which is why he rejected Đukanović

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - If it weren't for the Law on Freedom of Religion, I am sure that Milorad Dodik would have no problem officially inviting the President of Montenegro, Milo Đukanović, to visit BiH, analyst Adnan Huskić told the Patria News Agency.

"The first issue here is always Serbia, and then equally, if not even more so, the Serbian Orthodox Church as an organization, which has a completely different territorial nature than the state in which it should be based," Huskić believes.

He adds that the Serbian Orthodox Church has often shown in the past that it mobilizes and brings politics in Serbia, but also beyond, under its control. In this regard, the Serbian Orthodox Church has shown through numerous examples that it is a more powerful political player than Serbia as a state.

"When you have this situation of exerting pressure on Milo Đukanović, related to the adoption of the Law on Freedom of Religion, which the Serbian Orthodox Church has characterized as an attempt to usurp its status and property in Montenegro, and if you add where Montenegro is politically, strategically, or geopolitically, if we want to look at it that way, it is now a full member of NATO. It is more firmly tied to the Western world, entering into direct confrontations with the Russian Federation, then it is completely natural that Milorad Dodik reacted the way he reacted," explains Huskić.

He concludes that this is just another additional pressure being exerted on Milo Đukanović and Montenegro, which primarily concerns this adopted Law, and where the Serbian Orthodox Church leads the group of the dissatisfied.
