Political analyst Adnan Huskić stated that there are at least two reasons why he believes Dodik's political tactic, which includes obstructing the work of the BiH Parliament, is ill-considered, writes the BiH news agency Patria.
The first reason, says Huskić, is that the opposition within his own party is getting stronger and louder, and the SNSD congress is approaching. The second reason why Dodik's obstruction of the BiH Parliament's work is a wrong move, states Huskić, is that none of the international actors are in the mood for this type of "fun".
- It will be interesting to watch the OHR and their reaction (to Dodik's behavior, author's note) because that institution, apart from the building in Vrbanja, has had no purpose for years anyway – criticizes Huskić.
SNSD MPs first obstructed the work of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament by leaving sessions, demanding the dismissal of the Speaker of this House, Šefik Džaferović, due to Džaferović's alleged involvement in crimes committed against Serbs in Vozuća during the Serbian aggression against BiH.
After the BiH Prosecutor's Office assessed these accusations as unfounded, SNSD delegates continued with obstructions in the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliament.
They justify the blockade in the House of Peoples by the fact that Sadik Ahmetović was elected as a member of the Joint Commission for Oversight of the OSA's work, instead of the candidate proposed by the SNSD.
Two SNSD delegates and one from DNS did not appear at the last session of the House of Peoples, which is why a quorum was not established and the session of the House of Peoples could not be held, writes Patria.
