Husić: We are staying in front of the Government, the director of EP BiH cannot be more important than the miners

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Hundreds of miners from seven mines of the EP BiH Concern are in front of the FBiH Government building. The protest started 24 hours ago, their first night outdoors is behind them. The citizens of Sarajevo are with the miners again today. They brought them food, blankets, tea. 

Sinan Husić, president of the Trade Union of Miners of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, said that the miners had a very difficult night. 

He stated that the Government's conclusions do not suit the miners and that they have a strategic commitment.

"We must take care of the health of our workers. Coal can be supplied if our demands are met. We think that at this moment, the director of Elektroprivreda cannot be more important to the Government than thousands of workers," he stated.

When it comes to the negotiation team, he emphasized that they have already negotiated enough.

"Today we are sending a clear message that we will not accept the Rulebook on Work and Work Performance. Someone needs to convince us that it is okay for the base salary to be 580 KM instead of 850 KM," said Husić.

He reiterated once again that the biggest problem for the FBiH Government is the dismissal of Admir Andelija, the general director of Elektroprivreda BiH.

These are the eight demands of the miners:

- Adoption of a plan and program for linking service years for workers in coal mines within the JP "Elektroprivreda BiH" d.d. Sarajevo Concern,

- Control of the methodology and manner of determining the calorific value of coal delivered from coal mines within the Concern to JP "Elektroprivreda BiH" d.d. Sarajevo,

- Annulment of unilateral decisions by employers in coal mines within the Concern regarding the application of the new Rulebook on Work and the Rulebook on Work Performance,

- Respect for the provisions of the Collective Agreement on the rights and obligations of employers and workers in the mining sector in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina,

- Full realization of the Agreement signed by the Independent Trade Union of Miners of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and JP "Elektroprivreda BiH" d.d. Sarajevo on May 19, 2021,

- Dismissal of Mr. Admir Andelija, general director of JP "Elektroprivreda BiH" d.d. Sarajevo,

- Dismissal of directors of coal mines within the Concern who, by unilateral decision of the employer on the order of JP "Elektroprivreda BiH" d.d. Sarajevo, implemented the new Rulebook on Work and the Rulebook on Work Performance,

- Determination of the minimum wage in the mining sector in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the amount of 1,000.00 KM.
