Huseinović: The crimes committed during the aggression against BiH could happen again

The message of the documentary film „Death Camps“ would be that evil is repeatable. That is how our new film begins. After Auschwitz, the world said - never again! And then, 50 years later, less than 1,000 kilometers away, crimes occurred in BiH – said Avdo Huseinović, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria (NAP).

The documentary „Death Camps“ is his new project, in which he speaks about the crimes committed in camps during the aggression against BiH from 1992 to 1995. He made it with the support of the Association of Camp Detainees of BiH.

The film will premiere on November 24 at the Bosnian Cultural Center (BKC) in Sarajevo. The author of the shocking documentary covers more than 30 camps that were open during the aggression in the areas of Sarajevo, Foča, Kalinovik, Rogatica, Vlasenica. Horrors are also shown in camps in Bratunac, Zvornik, Prijedor and Velika Kladuša, and the documentary ends with stories about the horrors of the Dretelj and Heliodrom camps near Mostar.

The film also includes stories about camps in Serbia, Šljivovica and Mitrovo Polje, and the camp in Sremska Mitrovica. 

In "Death Camps", 67 male and female camp detainees testify.

- The film is especially important for future generations, historians who, thanks to the materials we used in the documentary, will be able to hear the living word of those who survived the camps during the aggression against BiH, and who will no longer be alive then – said Huseinović.

At the press conference, held today at the Hotel Bosnia in Sarajevo, the Association of Camp Detainees of BiH also presented its badge and emblem, which symbolize the suffering of camp detainees, writes NAP.
