Huseinović: We are preparing a documentary that will talk about Ceca's role during the aggression on BiH

Serbian singer Ceca was not just the wife of war criminal Arkan; there is clear evidence that she actively participated in the activities of the criminal Serbian Volunteer Guard, or the so-called Tigers, says Avdo Huseinović.

The researcher and publicist who deals with uncovering and publishing war crimes in Bosnia and Herzegovina during the Serbian aggression on BiH from '92 to '95, has, among others, found witnesses who speak about Ceca's shocking war past, writes the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

Precisely at a time when Serbian singer Svetlana Ražnatović Ceca is preparing for a big concert at the Slavija stadium in Lukavica, scheduled for August 30 this year, for which many Bosniaks have bought tickets, Huseinović is negotiating with witnesses about Ceca's terrifying war role.

- If everything goes according to plan, we will soon release a documentary that talks about Ceca's role during the aggression on Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is more than clear that she was not just the wife of the criminal Arkan; her role in the Serbian Volunteer Guard is much more serious than one might think – Huseinović tells Patria.

The Serbian Volunteer Guard, also known as "Tigrovi" (Tigers), "Crvene beretke" (Red Berets), "Arkanovi tigrovi" (Arkan's Tigers), or "Arkanovci"... is one of the names under which the special forces of the State Security Service of the Republic of Serbia (RDB) conducted armed operations in Croatia and BiH, and they also committed countless crimes against innocent civilians.

The field commander of the unit, managed by the deputy head of the RDB, Franko Simatović, was Željko Ražnatović Arkan, a pre-war criminal from Serbia who was also engaged as an UDBA assassin in the 1980s. The unit had up to 1000 fighters at certain times.

A part of the "Serbian Volunteer Guard" first arrived in the Tenja area near Osijek in Croatia in the early 1990s, and the infamous unit would later kill and plunder in Vukovar in Croatia, as well as on battlefields in BiH and Kosovo. They first committed crimes on the BiH battlefield in Bijeljina, and then in Zvornik and other places in BiH. The first images of a bloody BiH that went around the world are precisely those on which Arkan's men are killing Bosniaks in northeastern Bosnia.

The unit "Škorpioni" (Scorpions) also emerged from Arkan's unit, which would also be noted for atrocities and plunder, especially concerning the murders in Trnovo in BiH and later in Kosovo.

There is no doubt that Arkan, as the field commander of the more infamous unit, had assistants in leading the unit, and one of those assistants, according to witnesses, was his wife – the singer Ceca.

- The very fact that Ceca's concert was announced for October 10, 1995, in Sanski Most, which was supposed to provide a key stimulus to the members of the Serbian Volunteer Guard to defend that part of Krajina from the large operation "Sana 95" of the Army of RBiH, speaks volumes about her role during the aggression on BiH – says Huseinović.

- Furthermore, sources say that there wasn't a week when she didn't visit the camp of the Serbian Volunteer Guard located in Erdut, in eastern Slavonia. All of this indicates that her role during the aggression was by no means innocent – warns Huseinović, writes NAP.

The Patria agency previously published the testimony of Ismet Svraka, a prisoner from Prijedor, who stated that in 1995, Arkan brought Ceca to the camp in Banja Luka and used her to provoke prisoners whom he later beat.

- Ten of us were tied together. Ceca was standing at the door, she was in civilian clothes, and Arkan approached me and asked me: "Would you [sleep with] Ceca?". I said no, and then he started hitting me. He said: "What's wrong with Ceca, why are those 'balinkure' better than her?". I then said "yes [I would sleep with] Ceca", and then he continued to beat me, asking me where I got the courage to talk about Ceca like that – Svraka recounted, writes NAP.
