(Patria) - The most vulnerable internally displaced families who have chosen Vogosca as their place of integration will receive the keys to their newly built apartments today. The ceremony of handing over the keys and cutting the ribbon will be attended by the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and the Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of BiH Borjana Krišto, but not by the Minister of Human Rights and Refugees of BiH Sevlid Hurtić, who is responsible for the management and implementation of this project in BiH.
Minister Hurtić does not wish to attend the ceremony of handing over 27 keys to as many families for moral reasons and due to the obstruction of this project through which 2,778 housing units have been built in BiH so far, and at the opening of which Chairperson Krišto has never attended.
Therefore, Minister Hurtić considers it unacceptable for the ribbon to be cut by someone whose policy has not approved the allocation of funds from the budget for this project for years.
"The Ministry has been requesting funds for the completion of the project in the budget proposal for years, which is also foreseen by the international agreement. Because of this, almost 300 mostly Bosniak families in Republika Srpska have not received a roof over their heads, and it is questionable when they will, the Ministry announced.
