
(Patria) - Minister of Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sevlid Hurtić held a meeting today with the Commissioner of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton (HNK) Robert Perić and the Minister of Internal Affairs of HNK Marijo Marić.
The meeting discussed recent unpleasant events in Mostar, including attacks on children of different nationalities in several neighborhoods, and a mass brawl that occurred on the night between August 26 and 27.
During the meeting, Minister Hurtić expressed concern about the escalation of violence and emphasized the importance of urgent measures to ensure the safety of all citizens, especially children. The Commissioner and the Minister of the MUP of HNK confirmed that all necessary measures are being taken for the investigation and prevention of further incidents.
Minister Hurtić also appealed for increased cooperation of all relevant institutions to resolve these problems effectively and ensure a peaceful environment for all communities in Mostar.
The Minister of Internal Affairs of HNK Marijo Marić stated that the recent incidents in Mostar involved fan groups. According to him, some of the participants in these incidents have already been apprehended. Minister Marić also emphasized that the police will continue to act to prevent the recurrence of such incidents and strive to ensure the safety of all citizens.
