Hurtić condemns attack on four young men in Stolac

(Patria) - Minister for Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sevlid Hurtić strongly condemned last night's hooligan, brutal and cowardly attack on four Bosniak young men in Stolac.

"The physical attack on young athletes who are returnees by a group of thugs, including intercepting their car on the road, represents a breach of security in this part of our country. I call on the competent institutions, the police and the prosecutor's offices, to urgently prosecute this savage attack, which could have had the worst consequences.

We are witnessing that in recent years, attacks and clashes by hooligans, as well as attacks by fans, one of which ended in the murder of a fan, have been recorded very often in these parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Most of these incidents have remained unsolved or lightly punished, which has further emboldened new hooligans and attackers," stated Hurtić.

He calls on the authorities to impose the harshest sanctions on the attackers and to show zero tolerance towards such and similar attacks.

"Urgent prosecution of this case will at least partially restore confidence in the work of investigative bodies, otherwise, if there is no reaction, it will deepen mistrust and further damage relations in this part of our homeland," reads the reaction of Minister Hurtić.
