Humanitarian walks to raise money for a sick boy, Modriča supports him

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Modriča municipality will support Ljubiša Šljivić, who is walking from Zadar to Kragujevac with the aim of raising funds for the treatment of a four-year-old boy Ilija from Šumadija, the municipality head Jovica Radulović said tonight at a reception for this humanitarian.

– We have provided Šljivić with accommodation so that he can rest and continue his walk towards Šamac, Brčko, Bijeljina and further towards Kragujevac – Radulović told reporters last night.

The twenty-six-year-old Šljivić emphasized that he will walk more than 900 kilometers from his birthplace of Biljane Donje near Zadar in Croatia to Kragujevac in Serbia, where he lives today.

– I will try to symbolically, with my steps, call on people to help little Ilija Milanović from Kosjerić, who is immobile, but there is a chance he will start walking – said Šljivić.

He stated that he chose the route for the walk, which took him as a two-and-a-half-year-old boy during the wartime exodus of Serbs from Croatia in 1995 with his family to Kragujevac.
