Croatian Minister Božinović spoke with Čović: Bosnia and Herzegovina needs to urgently implement European reforms

(Patria) - Deputy Chairman of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dragan Čović, is visiting Zagreb, where he held a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia and Minister of the Interior, Davor Božinović.

Bilateral cooperation, current political developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and common priorities in the upcoming period were the topics of the meeting, emphasizing the need for lasting protection of the rights and interests of Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina in accordance with constitutional provisions. The expectation for urgent progress in the area of BiH's European reforms was particularly highlighted.

Čović emphasized that the urgent implementation of remaining European reforms is a priority issue for ensuring the necessary progress, stressing the importance of general stability, development, and constructive internal political dialogue. Ahead of the upcoming election process to be held at the end of the year, he emphasized the importance of protecting the constitutional rights and legitimate political representation of the Croatian people in BiH.

Minister Božinović confirmed on this occasion the continued strong support of the Republic of Croatia for the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina, particularly emphasizing the transfer of knowledge and practice for BiH's accelerated progress in multiple areas. Emphasizing strong support, he stressed the expectation for full protection of the constitutional rights of Croats, as well as their legitimate representation at all administrative-political levels.

At the end of the meeting, the interlocutors emphasized the importance of continuing strong bilateral cooperation and a partnership relationship on issues of shared priority, especially in the area of security, and further respect for the constitutional order of BiH.
