Hrenovica: Skenderija can be what it once was with a little effort

More than a hundred employees of the Skenderija Center, as well as tenants of business premises in Skenderija, are demanding that the Management take urgent measures to improve the business of this state-owned company in the center of Sarajevo, so that employees can receive their overdue salaries and tenants of business premises can increase their turnover.

The company owes employees three salaries and four hot meals, and owners of restaurants and boutiques in the symbol of Sarajevo complain that visits to Skenderija are constantly declining, which directly reduces their income. If the company continues on its current path, tenants will very soon terminate their contracts with the company, which will put more than a hundred employees of this business center in an even more unfavorable position.

Representatives of the tenants in Skenderija spoke with the Minister of Economy of Sarajevo Canton, Emir Hrenovica, on Monday. A new meeting with the minister, which will be joined by employee representatives, is scheduled for Monday, and they will try to find the best solution for this once promising Sarajevo company.

Hrenovica, in a conversation with the Patria news agency, reassures that employees should not fear for the fate of Skenderija. He is convinced that with just a little imagination and will, Skenderija can start operating more easily in two months.

- Management and employees must find common ground. It is enough to work a little on promoting Skenderija, and guests will start coming again. This will increase turnover for restaurant and boutique owners, and everyone will be more satisfied. Let them talk to bank directors, the post office, telecom operators... It is enough to open just one bank branch in Skenderija, and that will also contribute to increased turnover – said Hrenovica.

- Skenderija is a brand of Sarajevo. People like to come to Skenderija, have coffee, walk around, they just need to be offered quality content.

The second part of the Skenderija story involves large concerts and matches, says Hrenovica, which used to be organized in Skenderija's halls.
