Food and transport most expensive in BiH

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Prices of products and services used for personal consumption in Bosnia and Herzegovina, measured by the consumer price index, in November compared to the previous month of this year, recorded an average increase of 1.2 percent.

Food and non-alcoholic beverages, in November compared to October, on average increased by 1.8 percent, housing and utilities by 1.8 percent, furniture and household appliances by 0.5 percent, healthcare by 0.1 percent, transport by 1.8 percent, restaurants and hotels by 0.6 percent, and other goods and services by 0.3 percent, according to data from the Agency for Statistics of BiH.

On an annual level (in November of this year compared to November of last year), prices increased by 5.5 percent.

Food and non-alcoholic beverages on average increased by 8.5 percent, alcoholic beverages and tobacco by 1.9 percent, housing and utilities by 3.7 percent, furniture, household appliances and regular maintenance of the house by 2.6 percent, healthcare by 0.9 percent, transport by 15.7 percent, recreation and culture by 1.5 percent, education by 0.2 percent, restaurants and hotels by 2.5 percent, and other goods and services by 1.1 percent.
