Hota-Muminović admitted errors and omissions in the public tender via EMIS, but will not annul it due to lack of time for another!

(Patria) - The Minister of Education of Sarajevo Canton, Naida Hota-Muminović, stated at today's press conference that the tender for hiring staff in primary and secondary schools will not be annulled, although she admitted that there is an institutional error in part of the tender regarding one of the certificates, specifically that only seniority based on a certificate issued exclusively by the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is recognized.

The minister gathered several school principals at the press conference and defended the EMIS system and the digitalization of the tender application process in primary and secondary schools.

"I see that many people understand digitalization and system building, but these are actually much more serious matters," the minister stated, emphasizing that the implementation of the digital system for tender applications was necessary, but the process was challenging.

When asked directly if she would annul the tender, she said she would not, because there is no time for a new one.

"Among these applicants, there are people who have filled out the application excellently and successfully, 96 percent of them. If we annul the tender, these applicants have the right to appeal. Why should we put such candidates in a state of legal uncertainty? They will certainly have the right to appeal then."

She also emphasized that the employment process itself through this tender is for a fixed term, and that the new system has eliminated many possibilities for corruption that existed in previous processes.

"This system has now removed corrupt practices. Errors have occurred before, but they were not visible, and now they are," the minister said.

"I think we have hit a strong lobby involved in corruption, given how much this story has blown up. We firmly stand behind this system, which still needs to be improved," the minister stated, emphasizing the need for further system improvement to better protect candidates' rights and ensure greater transparency.

Tomorrow, protests by candidates whose applications were scored zero due to omissions in the EMIS system will be held in front of the KS Government at 1 PM.

Naša stranka (Our Party) has called on the minister to annul the tender, as have the Trade Union of Education and Primary Education of KS.

A meeting will also be held with the Cantonal Administration for Inspection Affairs on Monday.

Deputies Jasmin Šaljić and Admela Hodžić have also sent separate initiatives to annul this tender.
