Will People and Justice get a ninth representative in the Assembly of the Sarajevo Canton

SARAJEVO, (Patria) –  The People and Justice club in the Assembly of the Sarajevo Canton, with the accession of Amra Junuzović-Kaljić, now has eight representatives, the same number as the SDA.

Although the SDA had ten representatives, after the departure of Aljoša Čampara and Admela Hodžić, they were left with eight. Čampara and Hodžić operate as a parliamentary group. 

The President of People and Justice, Elmedin Konaković, does not hide that they would like to see Čampara in their ranks.  

“We would like Aljoša Čampara to become a member of People and Justice. He probably still hasn't made a decision about the continuation of his political career, but if he does, I believe we will be informed in time,” Konaković said for Dnevnik D FTV.

Konaković also spoke about the relations within the Four, stating that they function well and that the Government of the Sarajevo Canton is doing a good job. He announced that the concept of the Four would be expanded throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina. 

Along with People and Justice, the Four consists of the SDP BiH, Our Party, and NBL. When it comes to the Assembly of the Sarajevo Canton, NBL has no representatives of its own, given that Fahrudin Pecikoza moved to the SBB, and Junuzović-Kaljić left NBL and acted as an independent representative for several months before moving to People and Justice.

In addition to forming the Government of the Sarajevo Canton, the Four managed to secure the necessary majority in the Sarajevo City Council. After the election of councilors from three municipal councils, the parties of the Four have 14 city councilors, and the election from the Novo Sarajevo Municipal Council remains to be carried out.

After this process and the determination of mandates, the Mayor of Sarajevo, Bogić Bogićević, will be elected, around whom there is a unified stance, even among parties that do not constitute the majority.

Two deputy mayors will be proposed by People and Justice and Our Party.
