Emergency Measures to Exit the Crisis

At an extraordinary session of the Main Board of the Party of Democratic Action, the following conclusions were reached, as announced to journalists by Halid Genjac, president of the Main Board:

• The Main Board of SDA believes that there are serious reasons to highlight the economic, social, and societal problems in our society, which citizens are expressing in their demands, therefore all political parties are called upon to act responsibly in order to calm the situation,
• The politicization of protests is condemned,
• The attack on the state and violence leading to anarchy is condemned,
• Legal measures should be taken against perpetrators and institutions that have not protected the safety of citizens and state property, such as the Minister of Security in the Council of Ministers of BiH.
• The functioning of institutions at all levels should be ensured, including the regularity of payments of pensions, disability benefits, and other benefits,
• Ministers in the FBiH Government from SDA are ready at any time to hand over their ministerial functions to those who will be legally elected by the FBiH Parliament into a new government, in accordance with the Constitution and the law
• Dialogue with citizens should be conducted, more social justice, social protection, and employment should be ensured,
• A program of concrete measures should be created, and an urgent review of privatization contracts should be initiated, anti-corruption laws should be adopted which will include mechanisms for verifying assets acquired during the term of office for all officials at all levels, including the presidents of political parties, a reduction in total income for all officials at all levels of government, and a reduction in total spending in public enterprises, agencies, funds, and institutes.
• Spending in institutions should be reduced, the number of advisors, representation costs, the number of members of Management and Supervisory Boards should be reduced, costs should be rationalized,
• All these measures should be adopted under an urgent procedure.

Genjac stated that SDA cannot implement these conclusions alone, as there are legal obstacles to their implementation, but he requested support from all levels of government, from cantons to the state.

Genjac further states that reforms are needed in the field of higher education and health insurance, but that healthcare for all citizens must be ensured. The Main Board also adopted a conclusion that a "Program for a Favorable Business Environment" should be created "through consultations with businessmen and farmers."
