Urgent session of the Independent Board: Will Zubac be suspended on June 27?

The first urgent session of the Independent Board of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH will be held on June 27, writes the Patria News Agency. As stated, there will be two items on the agenda at this session, one of which is dedicated to the case of SIPA Director Goran Zubac, against whom an indictment for negligent performance of duty has been confirmed.

His suspension was not considered at the last session of the Independent Board, as the board members requested documentation from all relevant institutions regarding the events of February 7, when the BiH Presidency building was set on fire and when Zubac failed to exercise his legal authority, which is why the indictment was filed against him.

- All competent security institutions in BiH have submitted reports and documentation at the request of the Independent Board, so the session has been convened - say from the Independent Board of the PSBiH.

It is not yet known whether the members of the Independent Board will succeed in suspending Zubac, but the OHR also sent a clear message yesterday that the Independent Board must act in accordance with the law.

- The law provides for the possibility that the Independent Board and the Council of Ministers decide on measures that can be taken in such situations, and it is up to them to make those decisions in accordance with the law - say from the office of Valentin Inzko.
