(Patria) - An emergency session of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be held today, with the most important agenda items being the proposals for the laws on the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of BiH and the Court of BiH, the adoption of which is a condition for opening negotiations with the European Union.
Delegates will also consider amendments to the Law on Salaries in BiH Institutions, with the aim of improving the position of employees affected by the non-adoption of the budget. The agenda also includes a set of laws in the field of intellectual property, as well as proposals related to administrative procedure and measurement units, for alignment with EU standards.
Special attention is also focused on the proposed amendments to the Law on Service in the Armed Forces of BiH, which proposes raising the age limit for professional soldiers.
At the same time, representative Saša Magazinović called on delegates to urgently adopt amendments to the Law on Excise Duties, which would enable a temporary reduction or abolition of excise duties on fuel in order to mitigate price increases and protect the standard of living of citizens.
