Hitler's weekend house in Laktaši

The President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, used the commemoration of the anniversary of the Battle of Kozara to settle scores with political opponents and praise the entity he governs.

On the 75th anniversary of one of the most significant battles of World War II, Dodik stated that Kozara represents a symbol of the anti-fascist struggle. It is a fact that the Battle of Kozara is indeed a symbol of the anti-fascist struggle, but such an anti-fascist struggle, as waged in the Kozara region, has absolutely nothing to do with Dodik and his rhetoric, with which he brainwashes the increasingly dissatisfied people in RS on a daily basis.

In his speech, Dodik also accused the entire former communist system because, in his opinion, it did not do enough to commemorate the places of suffering of the Serbian people in the Potkozarje region. The President of RS believes that such a tragedy would not have happened to the Serbian people if Republika Srpska had existed then to protect them.

Looking at the way Republika Srpska was created, it is much better for the Serbian people that it did not exist then, because if it had existed, it would not have protected them, but would have been the closest ally of the Independent State of Croatia (NDH) under whose flag crimes were committed against the Serbian people.

Milorad Dodik has publicly boasted several times that several close members of his family died fighting as partisans at Kozara, but with his attitude towards the anti-fascist struggle and the events of World War II, he has disowned all his ancestors who died on the right path.

In the entity that Dodik presides over, a monument to the Chetnik vojvoda Lazar Tešanović is being shamelessly erected today. He is remembered in the Kozara region as the signatory of the cooperation agreement between the Chetniks and the Ustaše, which likely led to the suffering of some members of Dodik's family, about whom he publicly boasts.

At the commemoration of the Battle of Kozara, the RS police do not allow members of anti-fascist associations to sing partisan songs, while they do not react to the singing of Chetnik songs.

At Kozara, it is difficult to buy souvenirs with a five-pointed star, except for a few jerseys and t-shirts of the Belgrade club Partizan, while a wide range of t-shirts and souvenirs with pictures of Draža Mihailović, Ratko Mladić, Radovan Karadžić, and other accused and convicted war criminals are offered to potential buyers.

No matter how much Milorad Dodik boasts about the values on which Republika Srpska is founded, there is no doubt that Adolf Hitler, had Republika Srpska existed during World War II, would have built himself a weekend house somewhere in Laktaši and its surroundings.

Only there would he have been completely sure that nothing would happen to him.
