HISTORIC DECISION Katerina Sakellaropoulou first female president of Greece

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Katerina Sakellaropoulou has been elected president of Greece, announced the president of the Supreme Administrative Court of Greece.

For the first time in the history of this country, a woman will lead it from the position of president. 

Lawmakers began voting this morning, and more than 200 deputies in the Greek Parliament, out of a total of 300, voted for the first female president in history.

When she learned that she had been nominated for president of Greece, Sakellaropoulou stated that she sees it as "respect and justice, as well as modern Greece. I accept the proposal and, if elected, I will devote all my efforts to performing this high duty, as established by the constitution."
