(Patria) - In the presence of thousands of faithful, the central ceremony of the cultural-religious event "514th Days of Ajvatovica" was held today on the Ajvatovica plateau.
The ceremony was attended by the envoy of the Reis-ul-ulema of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bihać Mufti hafiz Mehmed-ef. Kudić, Travnik Mufti dr. Ahmed-ef. Adilović, government representatives, as well as numerous other guests.
- The Ajvatovica event is an important religious and cultural event for Muslims in central Bosnia, and for the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It reminds us of the middle of the calendar year and a turning point in the annual cycle.
In the past, the month of June was a period when Muslims went to prayer sites, where they thanked God and prayed for God to grant them blessings in the time to come.
Ajvatovica has always been a place of Muslim gathering, where the values of togetherness, mutual support, and Bosniak solidarity were emphasized - said Mufti Kudić on this occasion.
He emphasized that Bosnian Muslims drew their life guidance from Islamic values.
- Ajvatovica and Ajvaz-dedo tell us every year that Bosniaks believe in God and trust God, and always rely on Him, the Almighty.
When they had no solutions to their fateful questions, they had faith in God, a true support in all challenging moments.
That conviction that everything happens by God's will and decree is the belief of Bosnian Muslims that God governs our destinies, and from this sixth pillar of our faith, our people draw their strength for their biological and identity survival.
And we today, when doubt about success and our future wavers us, remember the perseverance and faith of Ajvaz-dedo in God's help and His omnipotence - said Mufti Kudić, among other things.
The Travnik Mufti reminded that Ajvatovica is our most famous prayer site, with a tradition of over 500 years, which evokes admiration and special attention.
- Therefore, this is an opportunity to say something about prayer and its power. Many Islamic scholars state that prayer is probably the most important form of worship, the best way to get closer to the Creator, and one of the best deeds.
Prayer is an integral part of all acts of worship and all good deeds. The essence of prayer is supplication, in Ramadan and with fasting, prayer has special value, when we give charity and zakat, we ask the Almighty to accept it, all Hajj rituals are permeated with prayer - he said.
The importance of prayer is evidenced by the fact that the Quran begins with a prayer and ends with a prayer, and that the entire Quran is permeated with prayers and discourse about prayer.
- Hundreds of Quranic verses speak about prayer. Many verses mention the prayers of God's prophets and prominent believers, and even angels.
In addition, authentic hadiths speak of miracles, i.e., exceptional divine help to prominent servants of God (awliya), as a result of prayer, and history records many such cases, from the time of the companions to the present day.
It is possible that this is the case with Ajvaz-dedo and the splitting of this rock at the foot of the Ajvatovica meadow. In addition, you have probably all heard of cases of unusual, miraculous healing of individuals from various illnesses, even the most severe ones, which are also the result of sincere prayer.
Therefore, brothers and sisters, let us not falter in our daily and persistent prayers to the Lord of the worlds, firmly believing that He will accept our prayers - emphasized Mufti Adilović, who also recited the traditional Ajvatovica prayer today.
During the program, the Ajvatovica Plaque was awarded to Huso Sušić, the mayor of Donji Vakuf.
Participants in the program included the Turkish Military Orchestra "Mehter", guests from the Republic of Turkey, and the choir of the Bosniak Cultural Community "Preporod" Ilijaš.
Before the central ceremony, the horsemen set off this morning towards the largest prayer site for Muslims in Europe after the traditional roll call in front of the Handan-agina mosque in Prusac.
Also, after passing through the rock, Mufti dr. Ahmed-ef. Adilović recited a prayer.
The event "514 Days of Ajvatovica" was held under the slogan "Tradition, Identity, Homeland", which is the constant motto of the event, indicating three important segments in the life of a nation.
