Thousands of people in Bosanski Šamac welcomed the coffin with the body of Sulejman Tihić

Under police escort, the coffin with the body of Sulejman Tihić was brought by funeral car to Bosanski Šamac, where the funeral prayer will be held after the afternoon prayer, at 4:10 PM, and then he will be buried in the courtyard of the White Mosque in Šamac.

As reported by the correspondent of the BiH news agency Patria, the convoy, which includes the coffin with the body of Sulejman Tihić, passed without any problems, and in larger towns, people lined the streets to bid farewell to the SDA president.

A large number of citizens gathered in Bosanski Šamac, not only from this city but also from all over BiH. The road to the mosque was blocked by the police. Columns of people are heading towards the mosque, expecting the arrival of Sulejman Tihić's coffin from Sarajevo. Columns of cars can be seen from all streets leading to Bosanski Šamac. In general, everything is under heavy security by the RS police, who are assisting many who are visiting Bosanski Šamac for the first time.

Honor guard unit in front of the mosque

The convoy with the body of Sulejman Tihić from Sarajevo has arrived in front of the mosque in Šamac. Around 5,000 people are currently gathered around the White Mosque in Bosanski Šamac.

Savo Ninić, the mayor of Bosanski Šamac, posthumously thanked Sulejman Tihić for everything he had done for this city. The Reis-ul-ulema of the Islamic Community in BiH, Husein ef. Kavazović, numerous muftis, imams from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina, and mayors from all over FBiH have also arrived in front of the mosque in Bosanski Šamac.

Milorad Dodik, leader of SNSD and president of RS, also arrived at the funeral of Sulejman Tihić. In a statement to Patria, he said that Tihić had very good qualities and that he would remember him as a politician with a strong character. When asked by NAP journalists if there was a politician left behind Tihić who would consistently continue to lead Tihić's policy, Dodik said that the elections would best show that.
