Herdželaš stopped in the tournament semifinals

Dea Herdželaš failed to reach the final of the ITF tournament in Sharm el-Sheikh, which is played for a prize fund of $10,000, after being defeated in the semifinal match by Russian Vitalia Diatchenko with 2:0 in sets (3:6, 2:6). The young player from Sarajevo played brilliantly until the semifinals, but was defeated by the more experienced Russian in the fight for the final.

- I am not satisfied with how I played the semifinal match, but I am satisfied with the overall impression. I played against a much more experienced and better-ranked player, who has a lot of experience in WTA tournaments, and I tried to impose my game. However, my serve was not going well today, and that somewhat affected my slightly worse game, which the experienced Russian ultimately took advantage of - said Dea, adding that reaching the semifinals is a great incentive for her going forward.

- This is the beginning of my journey, and I believe that, with the coaches I work hard with, I will succeed in achieving my set goals - are the words of the young player from Sarajevo, who, together with Indian Natasha Palhau, after a great fight, was defeated in the doubles final against the Serbian-Montenegrin pair Nina Stojanović/Ana Veselinović with a score of 2:1 in sets, i.e. 6:0, 4:6, 10:8.
