Herceg-Bosna is a criminal project and will always remain so

The Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina condemns the marking of the anniversary of the founding of the para-state Herceg-Bosna, especially the participation of officials of the state of BiH in these activities.

Marking the founding of an entity whose highest officials were sentenced to a total of 111 years in prison before the Hague Tribunal for proven war crimes, we consider an act of undermining the constitutional order. It is difficult to escape the impression that this activity is synchronized with Dodik's referendum in the BiH entity of Republika Srpska.

SDP BiH calls on Dragan Čović to stop presenting obvious untruths, such as that "wherever there was no organization and activity of HR-HB in any form, Croats no longer exist." We recommend that he inquire a bit better about Croatian communities, which he has obviously forgotten, but that does not mean they do not exist.

We note that in Sarajevo, Tuzla, Zenica, Brčko and Bihać live more than 50,000 Croats, which is many times more than in any capital of some of the cantons with an exclusively Croatian majority, and even more than in some such cantons as a whole, such as the Posavina Canton. It is precisely Posavina and the Croats from this part of BiH that are the greatest collateral damage of the wartime project of Herceg-Bosna.

Also, we remind Čović that based on irrefutable evidence for the persecution and mass emigration of the Croatian population, unequivocal responsibility was established of the then leadership of the para-state Herceg-Bosna and the Republic of Croatia, all according to the tragic agreement on the establishment of ethnically clean territories - would-be states.

The trend of escalation in the implementation of the strategy of hiding the disastrous results of the rule of nationalist parties behind "defending history" we consider a worrying attempt to preserve power by generating an artificial state of emergency. Ultimately, these are obviously the most desirable circumstances for the operation of SDA, HDZ BiH and SNSD, incapable of, at the present moment, dealing with the true vital interests of the population such as economic development, highway construction, increasing pensions, reducing foreign debt.
