(Patria) - Helicopters of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina actively participated in extinguishing fires near Rudo, as well as the village of Luke near Srebrenica over the past weekend.
The forest fire in the "Drina" National Park near the village of Luka in the Srebrenica municipality is still active today, September 9, 2024.
The terrain is inaccessible. The helicopter of the Armed Forces of BiH did not take off this morning because complex meteorological conditions jeopardize the mission, and it is on standby.
Over both days of the past weekend, the helicopters of the Armed Forces of BiH logged nearly 14 flight hours over the fire sites.
Near the village of Luka, they flew for 6.7 hours and dropped 14,000 liters of water, while in the Rudo area, they flew for just over seven hours and dropped more than 28,000 liters of water.
