Helez spoke with NATO Headquarters Commander and requested international community involvement in resolving the crisis

(Patria) - Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zukan Helez received the Commander of NATO Headquarters Sarajevo, US Brigadier General Matthew Valas, on an official visit.

The interlocutors discussed the current political and security situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. They exchanged views on the possibilities for the international community to act more decisively in resolving the crisis in our country.

“The OHR, EUFOR, NATO, and the Delegation of the European Union to BiH must take more concrete steps to finally resolve the crisis in our country, caused by the illegal and unconstitutional activities of the representatives of the authorities of the BiH entity Republika Srpska,” said Minister Helez.

He informed General Valas about the activities of the BiH Ministry of Defense regarding the adoption of the BiH Reform Program for 2025. The obligations that the BiH MoD has in preparing the Reform Program for 2025 will soon be completed, and that part of the document will be sent to the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs within the next 15 days.

During the meeting, Minister Helez and General Valace discussed the recent visit to the Pentagon in the United States of America. The visit was assessed as productive and will contribute to further strengthening the Armed Forces of BiH and improving the overall relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United States of America.
