Helez cancels previously agreed visit to Slovenia due to political crisis in BiH

(Patria) - Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zukan Helez has cancelled a previously agreed official visit to the Republic of Slovenia, where on March 11 and 12 he was scheduled to meet with the President of the Republic of Slovenia Nataša Pirc Musar and the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Slovenia Borut Sajovic.

Helez stated in a Facebook post that he cancelled the visit due to the political crisis in Bosnia and Herzegovina, “the biggest since Dayton to date, which is deepening and threatening peace and security not only in BiH, but also in the entire region”.

– A new date for the meetings will be determined later, and the reasons for cancelling the official visit were met with full understanding in Ljubljana. I am grateful to President Pirc Musar and Minister Sajovic for their understanding. Slovenia is one of the biggest advocates for Bosnia and Herzegovina's membership in Euro-Atlantic integrations, and I am glad that we have strong support from Slovenia on that path as well, Helez emphasized.
