Helez responded to Dodik's lackey: What we agreed on regarding NATO, we agreed on

(Patria) - In response to statements by BiH Security Minister Nenad Nešić that there is nothing to our country's NATO membership, and that RS consent is needed for such a thing, his colleague from the BiH Council of Ministers - Minister of Defense Zukan Helez - announced on his Facebook.

Helez told Nešić that BiH institutions decide on membership in international organizations and that, as far as the NATO path is concerned, they have already decided.

"I remind Dodik's lackey, Minister Nešić, that the BiH Presidency made a Decision on our country's membership in the NATO alliance in 2009, which was voted for by the member of the Presidency from RS, Nebojša Radmanović, and that the BiH Parliament adopted the Law on Defense, which, under Article 84, obliges all BiH institutions to implement all activities for BiH's membership in the NATO alliance, which was also voted for by deputies and delegates from RS.

Simply put - what we agreed on, we agreed on. The BiH Presidency has not made any other decision concerning our country's NATO path. The BiH Parliamentary Assembly has not passed any other law on defense. Our country, through BiH institutions, has done everything that is up to us.

I believe that the illegal president of RS, Milorad Dodik, and his lackey Nešić want to bring us closer to Russian aggressive values and North Korean democratic ideals, but that will not happen.

BiH, despite the obstruction of politicians from RS, will be a full member of the NATO alliance, just as we, despite the obstruction of the same, have obtained candidate status for accession to the EU.

Membership in both one and the other international organization brings only good to citizens throughout BiH.
