(Patria) - BiH Defence Minister Zukan Helez spoke via social media and clarified what he did upon learning that uniformed members of the Serbian Armed Forces were staying in BiH.
"I requested that an investigation be conducted in the BiH Ministry of Defence to determine whether the Ministry I lead gave permission for this stay. I certainly did not.
The investigation established that the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia did not request any permission for the stay of members of the Serbian Armed Forces in our country from the BiH Ministry of Defence, and that no one from the BiH Ministry of Defence gave any permission or consent for this stay.
Also, today's event is not provided for in the Bilateral Cooperation Plan of the defence ministries of the two countries.
Unofficially, some information suggests that these are cadets of the Serbian Armed Forces and that they might be staying at the invitation of the Ministry of Labour and Veterans' and Disabled Persons' Protection of the RS.
I repeat, the BiH Ministry of Defence received no invitation nor was permission requested from us for the stay of uniformed members of the Serbian Armed Forces on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina," Helez stated.
He noted that he is on an official visit and cannot respond to all journalists' calls regarding this case.
