Helez on NSRs session: BiH Armed Forces have an obligation to protect BiH's sovereignty, let no one doubt the strength of hundreds of thousands of patriots

(Patria) - Minister of Defense of BiH Zukan Helez commented on the special session of the National Assembly of RS today, which begins at 6 PM.

According to announcements, the session should discuss the "Information on the collapse of the legal system in BiH by violating the Dayton Peace Agreement", as the leadership of the National Assembly of RS has already framed this agenda item.

"According to the information coming in, conclusions will be presented at the Assembly that would prohibit the activities of state judicial bodies in the smaller Bosnian-Herzegovinian entity. It is unnecessary to mention that the judiciary is one of the three pillars of power of any state. Denying the judiciary of Bosnia and Herzegovina, prohibiting the activities of state judicial institutions in one part of our country is an open attempt at secession, and I will position myself accordingly in my capacity as Minister of Defense of BiH and Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH.

All of this resembles an attempt to divert attention from the problems faced by two primitive Serbian nationalists, the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić, and the illegal president of the smaller Bosnian-Herzegovinian entity RS, Milorad Dodik. Dodik's trial and the protests of 150,000 citizens of Serbia against Vučić's criminal government have cornered these two nationalists, and a cornered beast is most dangerous.

Serbian national policy over the past 3+ decades has been misguided, anti-people, and because of it, citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia find themselves in the waiting room of Euro-Atlantic integration. We will see if these two dictators, who have kept the people in a state of poverty for over a decade, will ignite a powder keg in the Western Balkans to save their own skins.

I am pleased that the Prosecutor's Office of BiH has, after all, taken the anti-constitutional activities of the NSRS seriously and in a state-like manner, by sending a request for information and legal assistance based on suspicion of committing several criminal offenses, including "Conspiracy to commit a criminal offense", "Preparation of a criminal offense", and "Attack on the constitutional order".

Certainly, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH is expected to react first to anti-constitutional actions by anyone, in accordance with its constitutional jurisdiction. I sincerely hope that the international community will also not underestimate the seriousness of the anti-constitutional actions of the National Assembly of RS and that they will know, and above all, have the courage, to respond to this open attack on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

If the judicial institutions are unable to prevent the announced anti-constitutional attack by the NSRS on the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the international community ignores the seriousness of this attack, I remind you that the functional and legal role of the Armed Forces of BiH is to protect the statehood, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

To the authorities of the smaller Bosnian-Herzegovinian entity and the deputies in the Assembly of this entity, I say that Bosnia and Herzegovina is a country with a thousand-year tradition of statehood, and they should not play with its sovereignty and territorial integrity. Let no one doubt the strength and determination, primarily of the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also of hundreds of thousands of patriots of this country – Bosniaks, Serbs, Croats, and all other citizens – to preserve a unified Bosnia and Herzegovina, a state where law, freedom, and equality will apply to all its citizens, regardless of where they live", stated Helez.
