Helez after the decision of the Court in Strasbourg: Dodik cannot remain even the president of SNSD

(Patria) - The decision of the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, which rejected the request
of Milorad Dodik's legal team for the introduction of a temporary measure that sought to stop the application of court decisions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, on the basis of which his mandate as President of Republika Srpska was revoked, was also commented on by the Minister of Defense of BiH, Zukan Helez.

He addressed the public on social networks and stated that such a decision represents a strong and unambiguous confirmation of the correctness of the decisions of domestic judicial institutions.

"After his appeal was already rejected by the Constitutional Court of BiH, now the highest European judicial instance has also clearly stated that there is no legal basis for Dodik's requests. Thus, all relevant judicial instances have sided with the law, justice, and the institutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

This decision further confirms the legitimacy of the High Representative's actions, his powers, as well as the obligation to respect his decisions.

It is time to finally put an end to the continuous challenging of institutions and the legal order. No one can be above the law, regardless of their position or political power.

I expect the verdict of the Court of BiH to be fully implemented, without exceptions and without delay. I expect Dodik to be stripped of his mandate as president of SNSD. Dodik is a cancer that has infected BiH and he must be removed. Bosnia and Herzegovina must be a state of justice, equality, and freedom, European values, and a bright future for all its citizens," stated Helez.

This week, the Presidency of SDA also held a session, and in their first conclusion, they stated that Dodik cannot even be the president of SNSD.

"The Presidency of SDA welcomes the activities of the Bosniak Caucus in the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, which resulted in the involvement of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of BiH (HJPC) in the process of full and strict implementation of the Court of BiH's verdicts against Milorad Dodik. We expect the HJPC to persist in its request and, if the local court in Banja Luka continues to refuse to implement the verdict, to take disciplinary measures and dismissals within its jurisdiction. We reiterate that the verdict of the Court of BiH clearly states that Milorad Dodik must be completely removed from political life and that he cannot remain even the president of SNSD," stated SDA.
