HDZ, Trojka and PDA Vote to Send Only Marin Vukoja to MPs for Constitutional Court Judge of BiH

(Patria) - With the votes of nine members of the Election and Appointment Committee from HDZ, SDP, NiP, Our Party, and PDA, Marin Vukoja is the only candidate proposed for the judge of the Constitutional Court of BiH. Eldar Čomor from SDA voted against. In order for this proposal to pass, the members of the Election and Appointment Committee were changed twice. Irfan Durić from NES was not present at the session. Mladen Bošković, Goran Opsenica, Dajana Frljić from HDZ, Aner Žuljević and Senad Subašić from SDP, Elzina Pirić (PDA), Dragan Mioković (Our Party), Rasim Smajlović (NIP), and Petar Galić (HNP) voted for the proposal that only Vukoja be a candidate for the Constitutional Court of BiH.

This proposal will be sent to the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament, which will hold a session on May 28.

HDZ BiH has been insisting on the appointment of Marin Vukoja for the second year, and Vukoja was on the same list for the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliament with Dragan Čović in 2019.

Vukoja has no judicial experience, and in the Constitutional Court of BiH, he should decide on the most complex legal issues and review court decisions and their compliance with the Constitution of BiH.

Representatives from the opposition also attended today's session, appealing to the Committee to propose a full list of successful candidates instead of just one name.
