HDZ on Mostar, unnecessary OHR decision

The annulment of the first round of elections at the constitutive session of the City Council opens a legal and political vacuum due to an exclusively procedural matter, according to the reaction of the City Committee of HDZ BiH Mostar after High Representative Valentin Inzko decided that the election for the head of Mostar should return to the beginning, specifically that it should be elected by secret ballot.

“The decision on the public election of the mayor is a decision of the absolute majority of the City Council members, and we are unnecessarily entering a confusing situation that can disrupt all dynamics in the establishment of executive power at the City of Mostar level,” it was stated from HDZ.

The party added that “city council members will consider the OHR letter at the continuation of the constitutive session on Wednesday and make a decision on the continuation of the election of the Mayor of the City of Mostar.”

We remind you that the Office of the High Representative in BiH (OHR) decided that the election of the Mayor of Mostar should return to the beginning, specifically that the head of the city on the Neretva should be elected by secret ballot.
