HDZ does not want to appoint ministers to the Council of Ministers without an agreement on the FBiH Government, Komšić does not accept 'threats'

Although ministerial positions in the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina have been allocated, the public is wondering whether it will actually be appointed by March 11, when the legal deadline for formation expires, and when Denis Zvizdić would no longer be the mandate holder for the Council of Ministers, writes the Patria news agency.

Legal regulations state that in that case, another candidate for mandate holder should be proposed, but it is not defined whether the same or a new one.

A problem could arise if an agreement on the distribution of seats in the FBiH Government is not reached by Wednesday, because the HDZ BiH does not want to appoint its ministers to the Council of Ministers until an agreement on the FBiH Government is reached. The Democratic Front strongly opposes this stance.

- I am sure that on Wednesday we will continue talking about the FBiH Government, otherwise we haven't done much regarding the Council of Ministers. In other words, I am almost certain that by this week or the middle of next week we should have an agreement on the FBiH Government, and then we would simply enable Marinko Čavara, as President of the Federation, and Denis Zvizdić, as mandate holder for the Council of Ministers, to present the composition of both the Council of Ministers and the FBiH Government – said Dragan Čović, leader of the HDZ.

On the other hand, Željko Komšić, president of the DF, says that one has nothing to do with the other, and that the formation of the Council of Ministers has no connection with the FBiH Government.

- What does that have to do with it? That is not written anywhere in any regulation in BiH. The conditions for forming the Council of Ministers have been created, and nowhere does it say that any entity government must follow it. We have an agreement on the Council of Ministers, and that has nothing to do with the FBiH Government; we still need to talk about it – Komšić noted.

And when asked whether he fears that the Council of Ministers will not be formed by March 11, Mladen Ivanić, leader of the PDP and Chairman of the BiH Presidency, said there is no reason for fear.

- I am not afraid at all. In the first seven days of March, this will be completed, and we will have the Council of Ministers – Ivanić stated.
