HDZ BiH sets July 15 deadline for formation of HNK Government

HDZ BiH has set July 15 as the final deadline for the formation of the HNK Government, regardless of which bloc joins HDZ BiH and HDZ 1990.

There are two possible scenarios. Either SDA and NES will enter the HNK Government, or SDP, NIP, and HRS. The top leadership of DF has decided not to participate in the new government.

HDZ BiH and HDZ 1990 have 14 votes. The President of HDZ BiH, Dragan Čović, said that he expects partners from the Bosniak constituent people to secure at least six votes, otherwise, they cannot set any conditions. SDP (3), NIP (1), and HRS (2) have this number, while SDA (7) and NES (1) have eight representatives. 20 representatives are needed to confirm the HNK Government.

Stjepan Bošković, president of HDZ BiH in HNK, said that they are talking to everyone and that no one has been definitively rejected as an option yet.

What SDA and NES advocate for is parity in the HNK Government, i.e., a 6:6 distribution, and although the other bloc claims the same, if HRS is the partner, that parity will make no sense.
