HDZ BiH and HDZ 1990 signed cooperation agreement

MOSTAR, (Patria) - Today, a meeting of the delegations of HDZ BiH and HDZ 1990 was held at the HDZ BiH House in Mostar, where a cooperation agreement between the two parties was signed, it was announced from HDZ.

It is stated that at the meeting, the President of HDZ BiH, Dr. Dragan Čović, and the President of HDZ 1990, Ilija Cvitanović, signed a cooperation agreement, with the aim of achieving political consensus in protecting the interests of the Croatian people in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and especially in the process of Constitutional changes in which the Croatian people will ensure their full equality and sovereignty with the other two peoples and all citizens throughout BiH, which will result in a sustainable, democratic and European BiH, a member of the EU and NATO alliances.

"The agreement is based on the principles of equality, cooperation and taking responsibility for the Croatian people in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as for BiH as a whole with the legitimate representatives of the other two constituent peoples, and in accordance with the will of the voters and the responsibilities, obligations and rights arising from the results of the General Elections in 2018," the statement said.

"Starting from the same programmatic commitments, the signatory parties to the Agreement agree that they will participate in a fully coordinated manner in the process of Constitutional changes, changes to the Election Law, implementation of the decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH and the European Court of Human Rights, and that they will coordinate their positions on all important issues for the Croatian people in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Also, the parties undertake to make decisions in the legislative power in accordance with this agreement, and to achieve common programmatic goals.

Based on the results of the General Elections in 2018, HDZ BiH and HDZ 1990 have committed to mutual cooperation, all with the aim of achieving full equality of the Croatian people in Bosnia and Herzegovina and promoting democracy and the economic, social and cultural progress of Bosnia and Herzegovina," the HDZ statement concludes.
