HDZ 1990 will soon offer a proposal for reorganising Bosnia and Herzegovina, following the proposal of the Bishops' Conference on four regions, reports the Patria news agency.
The bishops of Bosnia and Herzegovina previously drafted their own proposal for political and constitutional changes which they say need to be implemented in BiH as soon as possible. As one of the models, they offer reorganising BiH into four cantons instead of two entities. These cantons, or regions, would be: the Sarajevo region, Banja Luka region, Mostar region and Tuzla region, where each people would have a minimum 30 percent share in the legislative and executive power, thus avoiding the possibility of outvoting representatives of any people.
The bishops believe their proposal would guarantee the establishment of equality for all peoples in BiH.
The president of HDZ 1990, Ilija Cvitanović, met yesterday with Cardinal Vinko Puljić in Sarajevo, where they discussed the overall political and social situation of the Croatian people in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and one of the topics was the reorganisation of BiH.
Cardinal Puljić supported the views of HDZ 1990, reports Patria.
