Hazim from Vogošća grows 50 types of tropical fruit in his garden

More than 100 different varieties of fruit and other plants adorn one of the most beautiful gardens in Vogošća, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

And, nothing would be so unusual if more than half of these plants were not tropical species, which are not often seen in the central parts of Bosnia.

Thus, in the unusual garden of Hazim from Vogošća, there grow Japanese persimmon, Indian banana, pomegranate, kiwi, jujube, lemon, fig, almond, and dozens of other tropical plants. And not only do these plants grow here, most of them also produce very tasty fruits.

- I have about 20 different varieties of grapes, raspberries, apples, plums, and other fruit. There is also a lot of indigenous fruit here, which has been largely forgotten in our regions – says Hazim.

- But, for people who come to see my garden, the tropical fruit is still the most interesting – he adds.

He has been collecting his plant collection for several years. When he sees a plant he does not have in his garden, he cannot resist buying its seedling.

- I order tropical fruit seedlings mainly over the internet, or through friends from Mostar. I enjoy this hobby of mine, and that is why nothing is difficult for me – says Hazim.

- I feel very nice here, the scents of the fruit calm me down. I spend most of my free time working in the garden – says Hazim, writes Patria.
