The fall of the euro by about 1.5 percent against the dollar due to the crisis in Greece will increase the external debt of Bosnia and Herzegovina, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.
However, as far as the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina are concerned, economists estimate that their direct liabilities to banks should not increase, except for those whose loans are tied to the dollar, but there are few such cases in our country.
- It is a small drop. It is true that it will indirectly affect Bosnia's indebtedness, because the amount of our country's debt increases, but as far as business activity in the country is concerned, there will be no major fluctuations - explains economic analyst Duljko Hasić for NAP.
He adds that the situation regarding the euro will certainly calm down in the coming days and that all sides will seek a solution to prevent greater consequences for the euro.
- The European Union, already on the first day after the elections in Greece, announces that it will continue negotiations with Greece. That country has created international obligations, and now modalities will be sought on how to repay those obligations - says Hasić, writes NAP.
