Hasić charged with attempted murder - Two attacks on Matej Živković in Sarajevo

(Patria) - The Cantonal Court in Sarajevo has confirmed the indictment of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office against Jasmin Hasić for the attempted murder of Matej Živković.
 
Hasić is accused that on February 15, 2022, at around 4:45 PM, in Miroslava Krleže Street, masked, he approached Živković and fired several shots from a pistol at close range. Živković was not injured on that occasion.

The second attack occurred on March 16 of the same year, at around 4:30 PM, at the same location. The accused then attempted to kill Živković using a pistol with a silencer. He hit him with four bullets in the pelvic area and leg. The injuries were life-threatening.

The Prosecutor's Office proposed for the main trial the hearing of 22 witnesses, five expert witnesses (including forensic experts, geneticists, and chemical experts), as well as the presentation of around 150 pieces of material evidence.

Jasmin Hasić is currently serving a five-year prison sentence for a previous conviction for organized crime, robbery and grand theft, obstructing an official in performing official duties, and unauthorized wiretapping and audio recording under an indictment by the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office.

The filing of the indictment was preceded by a complex investigation by the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office and the State Investigation and Protection Agency.

Živković is otherwise the deputy chairman of the Securities Commission of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and a witness in several important cases in the field of economic crime. He himself has stated in media appearances that the attacks are related to the position he holds and his testimonies.
