Hasečić: Criminal Šušnjar will not be extradited to BiH yet, our institutions made a mistake

The non-trial panel of the Court of Appeal in Paris today postponed the decision on the extradition of Višegrad criminal Radomir Šušnjar to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and announced a new hearing to be held on April 15 this year, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

This information was confirmed to the BiH news agency Patria by Bakira Hasečić, president of the Association "Women - Victims of War", who also attended the hearing in Paris today. She stated that the decision on the extradition of criminal Šušnjar to BiH was postponed due to oversights made by BiH institutions, i.e., they did not show enough interest in the Šušnjar case.

Šušnjar, along with Milan and Sredoje Lukić, participated in the crime known to the public as the "Living Pyre", in which in June 1992, more than 70 Bosniak civilians were locked in a house on Pionirska Street in Višegrad, and subsequently burned alive. Among the victims were women who had been previously raped, as well as children, and the youngest victim was a two-day-old baby who did not even get a name.

For this crime, the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia sentenced Milan and Sredoje Lukić to long prison sentences.

Šušnjar, who is also suspected of this crime, was arrested in April 2014 in France, with the help of information provided to the BiH Prosecutor's Office by the Association "Women - Victims of War", reports Patria.
