Hasečić asks Mektic to react to today's Chetnik gathering in Višegrad

(Patria) – The president of the Association "Women Victims of War" Bakira Hasečić accused the state Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dragan Mektic "for not reacting to today's gathering of members of the Ravna Gora Chetnik Movement in Višegrad."

"Does this mean that Mektic supports the gathering of those who committed crimes, including crimes in Višegrad where Chetniks are gathering unhindered today?" Hasečić told Patria, while also warning about the shortcomings of the Director of the Border Police of BiH Zoran Galić "for not preventing the entry of Chetniks into BiH."

"How is it even possible for Chetniks, in Chetnik uniforms, to cross the state border of Bosnia and Herzegovina?" Hasečić said. 

The anniversary of the arrest of Chetnik general and war criminal from World War II Dragoljub Draža Mihailović, instead of March 13, will be marked today in Višegrad.

"March 13 this year falls on the first Sunday of Great Lent, a Sunday when no food is served and no memorial services are held, so the organizing committee and clergy decided that this year's commemoration will be on March 10, on the anniversary of the arrest of General Dragoljub Draža Mihailović," the organizers announced.

The parading of members of the Ravna Gora Movement is planned for 10 AM at the Square of Fallen Soldiers in Višegrad, and the program will continue in Draževina, with a memorial service, laying of flowers at the monument to Draža Mihailović, and a ceremonial speech. 

The president of the Association "Women Victims of War" Bakira Hasečić reminds that Austria banned the gathering in Bleiburg in honor of the fallen members of the Ustasha movement in World War II, while, she points out, the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina are silent about the gathering of the Chetnik movement responsible for many crimes in the last two wars in Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as neighboring countries.

Hasečić considers today's gathering of Chetniks in Višegrad a direct attack on non-Serb returnees in eastern Bosnia, but also expresses fear that the nineties are returning to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

She said that in the nineties she witnessed the entry of Chetniks into Višegrad, after which bloodshed began, and that she sees the same scenes today.
