Hasanspahić has no time to talk about ViK due to political meeting, while workers go on strike!

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - A group of employees of KJKP Vodovod i kanalizacija is concerned about developments in this company after one of the members of the Supervisory Board resigned, while the procedure for electing the director of this company was underway. This halted the process of electing the director. 

It was announced that the ViK Assembly should be held at the beginning of next week, when the Supervisory Board could also be filled. 

Damir Saračević resigned from the position of member of the ViK Supervisory Board, stating that the entire process of electing the ViK director was compromised, and that there were pressures on the Supervisory Board, emphasizing that these functions are not only managerial but also political.

A group of ViK workers states that the Minister of Communal Economy and Infrastructure of the Sarajevo Canton, Senad Hasanspahić (SDA), had influence on the proposal of names for the Supervisory Board, referring to Mirsad Čaušević and Šaćira Mrnđić.

These two candidates were previously dismissed by the Assembly due to the catastrophic state of water supply in the Sarajevo Canton. Although we wanted to verify this information with Minister Hasanspahić, he was not in the mood for a conversation nor was he interested in what we had to ask him. We reached the minister after the third attempt, and on the other side came the response:

- Why did you keep calling? Don't you see what time it is, you're interrupting my political meeting. Why didn't you send a message?
- Minister, I am a journalist and I would like to ask you a question.
- It's past four o'clock, I don't want to talk further – said Minister Hasanspahić, among other things.

Hasanspahić was busy with a political meeting and did not want to answer the questions we would have asked him. Some of them are: How much damage is ViK suffering due to the blockade of the election of the company director, will there be water reductions in the Sarajevo Canton, has the situation with the EBRD loan become complicated, did he give proposals for members of the Supervisory Board?

The workers believe that the election of the Supervisory Board members, and then the election of the ViK director, is politically rigged and that different factions of the Party of Democratic Action are behind it.

The workers state that if these candidates are elected at the ViK Assembly, they will go on strike to express dissatisfaction with the developments in this company.
