Haris Pašović: Wear the Srebrenica flower today

All patriots of Bosnia and Herzegovina should wear the Srebrenica flower, the symbol of the Srebrenica genocide, on their chests today, July 11, says Haris Pašović, a renowned BH director, for the BH news agency Patria (NAP).

By doing so, he says, „we would express what we carry within us, creating a great image of solidarity that is needed both for the families of the victims and for us“.

- It is very difficult for something to become a symbol. It takes time for people to accept it. And the Srebrenica flower has been accepted. It has grown into a beautiful symbol. The best indicator of how much people have accepted it is Facebook. Many people have been posting the Srebrenica flower on their Facebook profiles these days – adds the director.

But now, says Pašović, it is more of a technical matter. Those who produce this flower need to make a maximum effort and produce enough flowers so that they are available to every citizen.

It would be good, says Pašović, if for the 20th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide, when global attention will be more intense, everyone had this flower and if it were more widely available. He expects that many people, not only from Bosnia and Herzegovina but also from other countries, will want to have the Srebrenica flower, writes Patria.
