Chaos on Pelješac: Torrent carried logs and stones down the street

The fires that ravaged the Pelješac peninsula this summer will continue to cause enormous damage to the local population for a long time to come, just as some predicted. Namely, heavy rain that fell in the Trstenik area on Pelješac caused a torrent of mud, logs, and stones, writes Dubrovački dnevnik, reports the Patria News Agency.

The cause of this natural disaster lies precisely in the fires that raged on Pelješac this summer, and the burnt forests have become dangerous landslides that threaten the local population. The torrent clogged a nearby stream, which overflowed and turned into mud.

Mud and water buried the streets and caused material damage to numerous houses and cars.
