Halilović and Veseli: Via Interpol to a Witness in the Netherlands

In the continuation of the trial of Sakib Halilović and Elfeta Veseli, accused of committing a war crime against a minor victim of Serbian nationality, prosecutor Miroslav Janjić said that through the Ministry of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina they sent a letter to the Netherlands for international legal assistance in order to establish a video link for a witness.

Judge Darko Samardžić warned the prosecutor that this could take up to five months, so it was agreed that the hearing of the witness via video link from the Netherlands would be arranged through INTERPOL.

At the status conference, Samardžić informed that Halilović's Defense had submitted a proposal of their evidence and that it would also be submitted to the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina so that they could comment.

A new status conference is scheduled for February 9.
