Hackers attacked the website of the Austrian Parliament

The website of the Austrian Parliament was targeted by a hacker attack on Sunday, Reuters reports, according to Patria.

During the 20 minutes the hackers controlled the site, the server was flooded with digital service requests. Although no data was lost, relevant services are investigating the case, according to a statement from the parliament.

It is suspected to be a so-called DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack; a similar incident occurred last November when the websites of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense were attacked, according to the statement.

Hackers carried out an attack on the European Commission's system in November.

The OSCE, headquartered in Vienna, was also targeted by cyber attacks.
